The Camp Host Knows

A red wooden camp store with a covered porch and a stack of firewood, with trees behind it.

Every campground has one person who knows everything.

You’ll find them at the gate, on a golf cart, or leaning on a rake. The camp host.

Ask them anything:

  • which site gets the morning sun
  • where the owl lives
  • where the best firewood is
  • whether the lake is warm enough
  • why you should skip the loop by the road

They know because they stay. While we pass through, they watch the whole season turn.

A good host turns a patch of gravel into a place you’ll remember.

So say hello. Say thank you on the way out. They always remember.
