Big Sky, Small Town

The Prairies are not empty. They are open.
There is a difference, and you feel it around the third hour of driving, when the horizon stops moving and the sky simply keeps getting bigger.
Then, a grain elevator. A water tower. A town with one main street, one café, and a campground tucked behind the ball diamond.
The grass is green. The neighbours wave from lawn chairs, and a sprinkler ticks somewhere.
Out here, the sunset takes its time, and so can you.
Pull in early. Let the light go long and gold across the wheat. Stay for the stars.
