The Ten-Minute Walk-Around

A black SUV towing a white travel trailer along a road below dry, golden hills.

Every great trip starts with a lap around the rig.

It takes about ten minutes. It saves the other kind of trip, the one spent on the shoulder waiting for a tow.

Walk it slowly and check:

  • tire pressure, every tire
  • hitch pin and safety chains
  • lights, brakes and turn signals
  • steps up, vents closed, cupboards latched

Then do the thing nobody mentions: stand back and look.
You will spot the leaning bike rack, the open hatch, the cable still plugged in.

The cheapest repair is the one you notice in the driveway.

Now pour the coffee. You’ve earned it.
